Hair Ideas

So a little while back I complained that I had no idea how to do my kids hair but as you can see I at least have found a place where I can get good ideas on it now. I've had to get over the fact that I HATE using hair gel and such and the results have really been fun. It's been fun for the girls too I'm just glad that I only have 2 for now because I don't think I could take doing any more hair. Anyhow if you want to see the real professionals do hair just click here or i've added the blog to our people we love list under hair ideas.

I was feeling really creative with Abby's hair this day.

It turned out pretty cute

Lattice Pig Tails cute and fun

Triangle with loops
French Braid into flippy ponytail

Lizzie for a princess party

Sectioned to half way up and curled

A knot variation of the puffy braid

Head band french braid to half way back

Lou-Lou loop to my lou

We had fun doing these loopy buns although I need to figure out what to do with the ends

This is called a puffy braid and works great for Abby's many layers of growing hair

This was an immense project and the parts aren't straight but it was still cute.

William 5 Months

I know I've been a blogging fool lately but it's been fun anyhow. I was browsing through all of my pix and realized I hadn't posted anything about our little man for awhile. Will hit 5 months on the 31st and is just getting bigger and bigger each day. He really is incredibly happy and I want to say "spazy" but he just is constantly moving unless he's sound asleep. From what I understand Jeremy was the same way as a kid so Will's got that going for him. He now can roll from both back to front and front to back and kick himself around in a circle. We've started him on rice cereal and he's been doing great with that. Anyhow here's some pix of the amazing boy named Will.

He's constantly drooling or spitting he even blows spit bubbles all the time.
I put this as his new pix on our blog but I really debated if it was the cutest one...

I love everything about this pix he's laughing at Lizzie and you can see how huge he's getting. (Got to love those toes too!)

And honestly this sums up everything. That's our little Man.

Lizzie and Friends

We had a play date with some of Lizzie's friends the other day and I thought I would post some of the pix from it. I've never seen friends get so creative with Cotton Candy.

Cotton Candy Goats

The kids thought that it was so cool that Cotton Candy dissolved on your tongue

They all loved how their tongues were changing color

This is were they all got creative and decided to make cotton candy juice. They dipped there cotton candy into their cups of water and loved making different colors.

This is little Gracie Lynn encouraging all to try her yummy cotton candy juice. (how could you resist that smile?)

Everyone sporting their new tongue colors at the end of all the cotton candy. (Well except Devon he was going for the masculine Cotton Candy goatee.)

L3 Work Party

Saturday after we got back from St. George we had Jeremy's annual Work picnic. It's really lots of fun they rent out the Utah State Fair Park and bring in rides, bouncy houses they have tons of food and a great drawing. We had tons of fun last year so we couldn't wait to go this year. We weren't able to stay very long but made the most of our time. Lizzie had a blast and I think Abby will really start to enjoy it next year.

Me and Abby waiting in line for the swing ride. She was really hesitant about all the rides.

After I put Abby in the swing and started to walk away she looked really nervous
She didn't smile once through the ride and I was sure she was going to start crying any second. But....

She gave me a great big smile and only cried because I took her out of the swing.

While I was with Abby at the swing Jeremy had Lizzie at the ferris wheel. (She's in the blue one)

Lizzie didn't even know the kids she went on with but she was friends with them by the time the ride was over.

Lizzie's reaction to the Ferris Wheel.

Our next favorite thing to do is the Giant Shark Slide. Abby didn't want to go but I made Jeremy take her. I am such a mean Mom.

Will anxiously waiting for his sisters to come out of the Shark's Jaws
At least Jeremy looks like he's having fun. Lizzie slid and then began to roll just as I started to take the pix.

Lizzie looks a little shaken up and unsure what has happened but Happy anyhow.

Ya who couldn't have predicted Abby's reaction. She laughed nervously as they went down but by the time they got to the bottom she was pretty sure she didn't want to do that again.

It was a crazy week with lots of fun and good family quality time but we're really happy to be home. Now if I can only get my kids back on their regular sleep schedule.

Last Pix at Zion

We really had a good time at Zion's but we couldn't leave before snapping a picture of Lizzie and the Lizard. We tried snapping pix of them but they just moved too fast. Luckily someone caught one and then dropped it in metal and put it on a rock for all to see.

Zion's Nat'l Park-Weeping Rock

After Emerald Pools we went to Weeping Rock. We took all the pix at Weeping rock with our video camera and I don't have the cable that I need to show you all that. So right below Weeping rock there was this cool little wading place and we couldn't resist Lizzie's pleas any longer so we let her take her shoes off and play in the water. Abby didn't think too much of taking her shoes off but loved throwing stuff in the water.

I was glad I put the girls in their skirts they worked out well for the whole wading thing. Lizzie had the hardest time getting her shoes back on because she had dirt on them so she would go back in the water to wash them off and then get back out to get her shoes on only to realize that she had dirt on her feet again. We finally put a stop to it and told her it was ok that her feet were dirty.

Abby starting the whole pick stuff up and throw it in process. The lighting where we were at was so beautiful. The trees and a bridge gave some really cool shadows.

Abby tossing the whatever into the water.

This was another attempt at being a "photographer" there were tons of little runs like this through out the entire park, but I thought the lighting was really pretty.

An attempt to show that Jeremy and I were actually there together. Whenever we gave the camera to anyone else the pix didn't turn out. bummer

Zion's Nat'l Park-Lower Emerald Pools

The next day we went back to Zion's and hiked two trails: Lower Emerald Pools and Weeping Rock. We decided to try out the umbrella stroller for Abby and put Will in the Carrier. Who knew that those cheap 10 dollar strollers could survive such terrain. It was nice to have the stroller with Abby so she could get in and out as she wanted it seemed to pick up the pace of the hiking quite a bit. These are pix of us at the Lower Emerald Pools. I just noticed we didn't get any pix of the actual pool but you'll have to take my word that it was pretty and super cool.

Will ready to go. He was such a good trooper.

At the Emerald Pools there was this cool little place that kids decided to play house in it was really cute.

This was a place a little off the trail that Jeremy and Lizzie took since I couldn't master the stroller up the steep embankment.

This was on the way down the trail. We noticed these mountains and it reminded me of those Cingular/AT&T ads "More bars in more places" and seriously we had cell phone reception through a good majority of the park it was pretty impressive.

Zion's Nat'l Park-Riverside Trail

Well we're back! We took our first real family vacation to St.George/ Zion's National Park. We were so nervous how our three little ones would take to the whole hiking bit. We decided I would take Will in the front carrier and then we purchased a back pack carrier for Abby. Our first hike in Zion's was Riverside Trail (a mile long hike) we thought it would be a good starter hike. It ended up taking all day because they had all of these stops along the way to get your feet wet in the river. We tried switching Will back and forth from the Front carrier to the back pack and we let Abby out every once in awhile to walk on her own. It was tons and tons of fun just long. The amazing part was how well the kids behaved even Will he didn't cry once even when I had forgotten to change his diaper after 6 hours he was still just as happy as ever.

This is our first stop along the way. I really have no idea how Will was so happy in that thing.

Jeremy, Lizzie and Abby. Somehow I think as the parents we looked like pack mules.

This is where Abby picked up her new hobby. Jeremy taught Abby how to pick up rocks and throw them into water. This was the best thing in the world and wherever Abby found water from there on out she threw in anything.

Our Happy little Man. He was so happy through out the whole hike. It was right after this picture I realized I hadn't changed his diaper in quite some time. (He was leaking out of the front carrier) (say it with me eeewwwww)
Cool stacked rocks. Every once in awhile I wished that I was a real photographer.
